Before the pandemic, my husband and I worked 12-hour days in the hectic corporate world in
Boston, Massachusetts. When the country ground to a complete stop, due to Covid-19 everyone was required to
stay home, including us. And like many Americans, my husband and I fell in love working from home.
When it was time to return to work, I discovered I had lung cancer. A month after that, an
MRI found a weak heart and damaged valves allowing blood to regurgitate. At that point, there
was no returning to work for me. As I sat home working for someone else from my bed, I
decided it was time for me to take control of my destiny and work for myself.
